Special Olympics Swimming {Dallas Sports Photographer}

For a wonderful year I worked for Special Olympics Oklahoma. I can say besides being a photographer, this was my favorite job ever. My favorite days were the days there were competitions and we were out at the games. I think every athlete should volunteer with Special Olympics so they can learn how to be a team and sportsmanship. Special Olympics athletes and partners are some of the best athletes in the world when it comes to sportsmanship. It isn’t about million dollar signing bonuses…but doing the best you can, and cheering on your friends.

I was thrilled to be able to spend an hour at the Swimming meet in Lewisville this past weekend!

What is a Vault Box?

A vault box is a 5×7 box (2 inches deep) that holds 5×7 prints from your session! They are all custom designed to fit your personality.

The images are a mix of black & white and color images.

They look great sitting on a table or on a bookshelf.

Meet Jett the Wonder Dog

I am going to try to post more personal things on my blog, not just sessions. That way when we meet I’m not just a body behind a camera!

My office assistant (well he’s not that good of an assistant since he doesn’t have thumbs), and guard dog is our family black lab, Jett. I affectionately call him Jett the Wonder Dog because I wonder about him.

Why?

1. He understands Spanish, and we didn’t teach him. Tell him to do anything in Spanish he will do it… tell him in English it will take him awhile.

2. If we tell him to lay on his bed (one of two because he’s spoiled) he will walk over and put his tail on the bed…how did end up with a smart alec for a dog

3. He sees my camera and he will either walk away or refuse to look at me….what a brat!

4. He gives kisses on command. ask him for a hug or a kiss and you will get one. Just a warning…he’s a sloppy kisser.

Things he loves:

1. steak

2. swimming (he is a lab after all)

3. his soccer ball. This soccer ball is almost as big as his head but he walks around the yard with it in his mouth. he’s not to happy when he has to share it with his humans…until he realized it means we are playing with him!

I love that you guys are still reading…stalking…hoping I post! Talk about a double edge sword… I have soo soo much to post…. a couple family sessions, a rock the dress session, an air show, a trip to Pittsburgh, NASCAR… i can not wait to show you either!!! Because I have been out shooting (including a friend for ProPilot… we are calling her Miss Feburary now) I’ve not had time to blog. So please forgive me and I will be blogging this up coming week…. not counting this post!! I think someones kick butt Rock The Dress Session will be 1st up or maybe some Blue Angels…. so many choices…

I may be hooked on Volleyball! I know I didn’t know anything about it when I shot the 1st game…but now I am loving it. I am still amazed how high the girls can jump!

In Texas…football is a religion…unless you have experienced it you have no idea how close this statement is. Within a 24 hour span I had watched a high school football game, and a pro football game..was that enough? Not really. I started to wish college games had started! lol! I know I need help! lol

Did you know in a past life I crewed for a hot air balloon?? Yup I sure did! Friday night my crew instincts kicked in. You can read more about it here. I still love them…I didn’t realize how much until I was out on the field friday night.
